V-sync On Or Off?
Is it better to have v-sync on or off for input lag and consistently hitting greens? I had v-sync on because I'd read that the game had issues with it off but was having trouble hitting greens so I turned it off because v-synch introduces input lag in any game. With it off, my ability to hit greens seems even more inconsistent. It's probably just that I'm a noob but what is the general wisdom on this for the PC version of the game?

V-Sync on has more input lag but the game is more stable, my framerate keeps going up and down with V-Sync off and it sucks. I'm hoping they're able to optimize the game better in future patches.

Well it depends...which monitor do you have? If you have 60hz monitor than better option would be Vsync On :) Otherwise of...

I have set it to off but I have it enabled via the Nvidia Cp since I have a "G-SYNC" monitor :) (read it as FreeSync compatible with G-SYNC).

VSYNC is not causing input lags. Don't know why people talk such bs. We're not in the 90's anymore when hardware had problems with vsync options enabled...

VSYNC is just limiting the maximum amount of fps your screen will get from your graphics card. If your GPU puts in more input as your monitor can read sometimes it happens that your picture in motion will start to tear. VSYNC get's rid of this. But there are a lot people who won't really see a difference. Vsync as every technology has grown and today nearly every onboard chip should easily handle vsync without any performance hits or input lag...

If you have a 60hz screen put vsync on and limit fps to 60. If you have a 144hz screen then use 144fps. Easy as that....

Vsync causes input lag in any system whether now or in the 90s. I don't know where you got this information or why you think it's true, but it's not. V-sync causes lag, period. It says as much in the Nvidia control panel which people are using in this decade. It's also possible to test it.

I have a 144hz monitor but I can set it to different refresh rates. Given that this is a console-centric game, from what I've read, it seems like it likes to perform at 60fps with v-sync on. So essentially I'm trying to find out if the lag that v-sync introduces is actually preferable to potential instability that the game may suffer in the background when it's operating at a fluctuating framerate that may have an even bigger impact on timing consistency.

Honestly, if you're a shooting build turn V-Sync off so you can shoot and defend better, if you're a bigman with no shooting your reaction time/timing doesn't have to be as good as a guard because most of the times you'll just be helping the player who is being set a screen or contesting shots in the paint.

I'm a "Scoring Machine" build (SG) so a shooting build. I'm just going with vsync off at this point. Thanks for the input guys.
