Does Multiplayer work online?

I'm asking ahead of time before my friend buys the game - we're looking to do Online Coop (not PVP) and I know it works via the PlayStation version but is Steam multiplayer still an active choice to connect over?
I haven't played the game yet and I think I need to get through the tutorial level first before I have options: will I be capable of inviting said friend after beating the tutorial, after beating a level, so on and so on.

if you meant Cross-Platform between Steam and PS then NO
but it have co op in Story log , free log and treasure log if u both on Steam Except tutorial as you said and Special log ( DLC )

Perfect thank you! We're both getting it on Steam I just know I was reading up something about the Multiplayer being janky.
I just finished the tutorial and found the Multiplayer setup options and I presume from there I can just add via Steam friends list.

Im in for some coop,if for you guys is ok,just add me. Bought the game yesterday hoping for online not be dead, 800 players, not bad but still cant find a game

That'll be tough. From what I've seen of the game there are very few 4 player maps and you have to unlock them. Your best bet might be putting up a discussion requesting a coop partner

Yeah it works, it's just there is a lot of people that come on during odd hours. Yet I'm always down to play this game whenever. Send me a friend request!
