Enemies not appearing "Fight for the Throne"

In the Grand Line Treasure Log fight "Fight for the Throne", where the prize is a Gold Blackbeard coin, I cannot get most "major" enemies to appear.

The first few appear, and I can defeat them (typically Drake, Perospero, and Jack). After I defeat Jack, Doflamingo "appears" and heads to the land of Drought. I have to intercept him before that, or else he turns the whole battlefield Red.

However, his character never actually appears, nor does any other "major" enemy on the map (Pica, Diamante, Katakuri, etc.). I can get two Leader type enemies to spawn by conquering a battlefield after this, but it only actually shows one of them. The other one follows me around on the map, but I never see it, and it never hits me. It's like it's under the map.

I AM using a mod to change the input icons from XBox to DS4. I will try disabling the mod and see if that helps.

I disabled the mod, and played through differently (trying to defeat all the other enemies first that I didn't beat before). It doesn't seem to matter. The only actual enemies that seem to appear are Drake, Perospero, and Jack. Other enemies spawn, but never appear.

nope, they don't care about this. you buy the game then all good for them.

Welp, I'm not going to bother trying to install previous versions to fix this. I'll just have to hope they fix this in a future patch. Untill then, I'm benching it. I'll go leave a Thumbs Down review later with an explanation of why.

I managed to finally finish the stage. I have no idea if there was a hotfix or if I fixed it, but here's what I did. I played another stage in Tresure log, the one which gives Akainu gold medal, if that matters. I doubt it does matter, but this mission includes Hawkins and Doflamingo, the ones who did not work in Fight for the throne.
Then I went back to Fight for the throne, and played it with a different character than I did the first times. Everything worked well. I hope you'll manage to pass it too.

I'm afraid I'm still having the issue. The only one I could find that give Akainu coins only gives me silver ones, and I've unlocked all that I could. I did that one anyways.

Oh, wait... I did not try using a different character, though.

After I tried it with Zoro (been only using Luffy for the most part), I too was able to get them to appear.

I managed to get it to work with whitebeard so maybe try a giant character
