Interior Parts Assembly

Good evening fellow mechanics,

I have run into an issue. I have removed the seating and the steering wheel for a car that I am restoring. I bought new pieces to go in there but how do I put them in there? I have tried to lift the car and install, no luck. I have tried to install the new seats and steering wheel while in a parking spot in my garage and in the parking garage. No luck. Has anyone found out how to reinstall interior pieces?

I thought that moving to the car to the track or airport would prompt me to install the new pieces. But no, it let me drive the car with no seating or steering wheel.
