Index controllers
The screenshots obviously show the vive wands, will this game natively support the index controllers as well?

Not true noodles, i've downloaded and tried countless games that do not work with index controllers, even games showing the index compatibility. For example check out all the free "museum" games on steam. half of them cannot be played on valve index controllers just as a recent example, i had a friend over and we wanted to play around with free education like vr games and decided to go exploring various free museum games up there, while a few are playable we are disappointed in how many you couldn't interact with things and one you can't even move. I'm so frustrated as index is only VR i own and everytime i look into issue i'm eventually just told to use the old wands, but i don't own any other wands and certainly not going to spend $160 to buy old set of wands just so i can play games that don't work with index. It's completely unacceptable valve has not given us a working option to simply have index controller simulate valve wands for games that haven't been updated to support index controllers or abandoned. There is even an option if you dig into controller configs for index to act like valve wands or oculus touch but it doesn't work, you can't change controller profile from within vr,, only on the desktop, and any settings you change, when you upload the game  doesn't launch. i've posted  these issues on every game i found not to work and you cannot contact steam for help as they redirect you to contact the game developers instead. one of museum ones i actually spoke to person who made the game, he said they simply don't have the resources to update the game and doesn't on an index. yet they put index compatible icon on the game??

Now latest game i'm having difficulties with is derail valley, i'm needing to either swap trigger/grip around, or adjust sensitivity of grip as i'm constantly dropping things in the game making it difficult to play. players simply tell you to adjust settings in steam ,which makes sense, only it doesn't wor4k, you cannot click edit button to edit settings while in game, and yet again any settings you change outside game in steam vr controller settings for derail valley won't load once you launch the game. and again i would love to reach out to steam support to help, only they again won't let me submit a ticket for controller issues telling me to contact the game developer.

So no, noodles, there is no way to know if a game actually works with index controllers, even if they have valve index logo on game store unless someone confirms it works. and game must work without touching steam settings as that is broken and unconfigurable as well and no way to get help from steam support on the issue.

I guess valve made index only for people who already have the vive systems so they put absolutely no support for backwards compatibility since most people instead of complaining or asking for it, simply pick up their old wands and are good to go. Someone like me on other hand who spends $1000 on index for first VR system is screwed out of a lot of VR content due to not owning old wands and 0 support from Valve because i'm in a minority, and they only care these days about the bottom line. Not customer service anymore.

EDIT: Interesting, i went to lookup the one museum game i was troubleshooting for hoursr one day trying to get controllers working which was, "The Virtual Reality Museum of Immersive Experiences" thats the one i was able to talk to the dev about, turns out that index compatible icon is now gone from store page, wonder if it was due to me reaching out to them in forums and directly to dev. But anyway feel free to try, if you some how get that game (it's free) to work with index controllers please tell me how, as i can't get any control configs to stick when i save them and steam will not help me.

For now we can confirm support for Oculus, HTC Vive, and Valve Index. But we're currently working on as many goggle support as it's possible and reasonable (we choose the most important and popular ones). More info to come, stay tuned! :)
