Tiger Drop not working

Fought Komaki's pupil can't seem to be able to get Tiger Drop. Didn't take any damage fighting the first two, not sure if it gets glitched out. I can use Komaki's third pupil's parry just fine, he's the only one I got hit by. Anyone else having this problem?

I’m confused, did you beat his pupil and can’t get the timing down for the tiger drop? Or you are struggling to beat the pupil to get it.

i beat the pupil, not sure about the timing. I use left click and it never activates.

You're supposed to use right click, assuming that one is the heavy punch?

No, you press Y or the top button when the enemy attack almost connects while in a ready stance or lockon. That said unlike the parry the timing is a bit narrow.

Ah okay, I was using light, I just came from Kiwami 2.

But Tiger Drop input is exactly the same in every game though.

You lock on, and press heavy attack as soon as enemy is about to hit you.
