why did they remove the cig from the cover art?

I noticed it on the PS4 version cover art of the game and on the PC version of the game I know you can change the cover art on steam but whats up with it is it censorship? lol P.S i know that the cover art they went with for the remaster is the original JPN cover and not the NA one that was on the PS3 back 09'.

Because people are needlessly touchy about this kind of thing these days (I say these days but they were doing this exact kind of thing even back on ps2)
And obviously Kiryu is a badass so all the kids are going to imitate him and start smoking.

Funny thing is that in real Japan and pretty much of all of Asia, MANY people smoke cigarettes, so maybe it was purely for American audiences to censor?

won't lie when I was growing up my biggest pet peeve was that in yakuza 2 kiryu started smoking. I was so excited to have a protag that didn't smoke in 1 and every game after I just kept complaining that everyone smoked.

Nowadays it still irks me lol.

Living in a country where indoor smoking in public places is banned, the scenes in the hostess clubs makes me a little put off for second.

i would agree with mach and it is strange and thats not true they dont all do it plus he was trying to be away from all that with the amount they have in the game i was wondering about the art they had for there games i mean u know well u know i prefer there art without it i was wondering why when they u know had so much in the game i mean even the police officers do in the game its like man wish they wouldnt i mean not everyone in the world or japan does i only play on console trying to get footage and stuff its realy sad it wont take saves of games on current consoles i mean the remasters i know there not remakes which i wont play but they changed stuff to were it wont use the saves and the story seems some what different even if its not a remake still no one should smoke its bad for them and still wish they wouldnt make everyone in the game do it its very saddening hi all i hope everyone in the world doing ok and everything had a good week and has a good weekend and everything and had a good fourth of july and everything God bless
