How much better is yakuza 4?

I'd only say its worse storywise, I can't for the life of me remember who the main villain was. It was so forgettable.

Yakuza 4 has arguably the worst story out of the entire series, but in terms of gameplay, it's pretty great. The four different characters have unique gameplay that complements their characters and 4's a much more offensive (and much, MUCH easier) game than 3 so all characters feel like freight trains. Just don't expect a cohesive story when you play 4

Ah, so I have nothing to worry about.

If the story gets me to feel moist, connect with the characters and have a good time with Japanese Crime Drama, then I can guarantee I'll be having a good time.

When people said that Yakuza 4 is "Worse", I was worried that the combat will have more block-heavy enemies like Yakuza 3. But from your comment i don't seem to have anything to worry about. So I can appreciate that.

The characters in 4 are thankfully really good (except a certain woman who in my opinion is the single worst character in the series) and the plot is full of a ton of twists with very little payoff in the end. It's worth experiencing, but don't expect something on the same tier as 7 or 0.

You shouldn't have any issues with the combat. RGGStudio got a ton of complaints after 3 so they dumbed the AI down and let the player go wild in battles. I don't think I got below 50% health a single time in my PS4 playthrough where I got the platinum trophy

So long as characters show some genuine emotion and have some serious crime drama, then I'm more than happy. So far Yakuza 3's story has been a real bombshell and I've loved it.

4 is pretty awesome since you get to play as four different people. Same with 5. I loved all the Yakuza games, but I can definitely see why you're not enjoying 3. TBH though I prefer 5 over 4.

If we were ignoring Haruka going full dumbass at the start of the game (also the end of 5) and Florist not existing (seriously, this dude could've ended the whole story), 6 is damn good. It had my favorite side characters along with 3.

Earlier this morning I typed an entire rant about that, and I'm honestly tempted to again. She f@cked her life up haha. 3 and 6 are super similar, and I love both of them, but Haruka in 6 really pisses me off to no end

5's story is a sprawling mess and the end boss comes pretty much out of left field, but is still preferable to 4's 3rd-act pile-up of side-switches / betrayals, identity reveals, faked-out death, rubber bullets, &c. 5 also has the highest quantity & variety of side content in the entire series.

I finished Yakuza 4 quite recently (played 3-6 pretty much back-to-back over the month leading up to the release of Y:LaD) & I'm not entirely sure who the main villain was.

Y4 is total crap. Good new characters. but the storyline is complete and utter garbage (one of the worst I've ever experienced) and the combat is stupid easy (except for broken bosses). It might be an unpopular opinion but I think Y3 is the better game.
