I really don't get where all the hate for 3 is coming from, its as if everyone expects to button mash to victory or something. If enemies are blocking, just grab them or sidestep behind them or use a Komaki technique.

Kazama... Kiryu IS Kazuma.
Probably but there was enough confusion over it that in the localisation of the original version of Yakuza 3 Kazuma's name was changed.
Having characters with such similar names is rarely a great idea. Whilst it may be a coincidence that does happen in reality doing it in fiction adds nothing of value unless it's used as a plot point.
