Game crashed Linux/Computer System
If I start the game, I can see the start screen, but the complete system is crashing and I must restart the computer.

HaraldZealot Feb 6, 2021 @ 10:23am
I have experienced the same problem. I just installed so never have played before. If I start game everything freezes (like entirely I even can switch to the true console, what is usually possible almost for every problem) and the only way out is to switch power off with the button.

My distro is arch linux. Graphic card mesa intel UHD graphic with support of vulkan.

Game also crashes at startup on my Linux PC. (Other Vulkan titles play just fine.)
I never played the game before, but it ran fine on a friend's PC before the last few updates (also Ubuntu 18.04.5 and a Radeon RX550 card, so a bit lower than mine).

Forcing the game to use "-vulkan" didn't made any difference (and wasn't expected to do so, but was worth a try) and removing the 2 videos in the "Movies" folder neither.

If i can help/assist with more technical details and testing, please drop me a line.

Hi, did patch 1.2.8 resolve your issue? When you still have this issue, have a look if there is a new driver for your graphics card available.

Used system / Verwendetes System
  • Kubuntu 20.10 64-bit
  • CPU: i7-8700K (Coffee Lake)
  • internal graphic (CPU) / interne Grafik (CPU) (Intel® UHD-Grafik 630)
  • RAM: 16 GB
Question:
Is it possible to play this game with an internal graphic chip?

Frage:

Hey @Zaratusa: Nope, still crashes on startup (and i sent the crashlog).
I will have a look into a newer graphics driver this weekend likely and tell you if that works.

Let me know if that works. I've also forwarded various linux startup error to the Unreal Engine developers, but their only guess was that there is a graphics driver problem.
