Allow me to paint you the picture of how the EA launch went: You spawn in as an egg. Great. You hatch, also great. Now comes the part where, if you were not among the first people to log into the server, and was able to survive and essiently 'claim' the spawn area as the strongest (biggest) dragon, you would die, constantly. You can't escape, because you can't fly, and you'd die in the desert. You can't fight, because each time you do, you'll lose or become the meal for the biggest dragon around. It would not be so bad if the area was big, but with the ability to highlight other dragons in such a small area, you're doomed to die within 30 minutes from hatching.
The game is not fun to play, and I say that as the person who was on the other end; The biggest dragon in the server for the time I played in it. Save your money until the game proves itself is my suggestion. The game could, Hypothetically, redeem itself, but with DoD teaming stirring drama among other dev teams, and a constant refusal to hire more coders and proffesionals- I can't say it's been a promising sight. This is just my opinion.
Other than that what he says is only that, what he says.
No one knows what the future of this game is, but I know for a fact that games with far worse EA were given a pass or still are excused from criticism.
One of the The Isle, one of them Ark, Dayz took 5 years for people to finally get against it.
So the idea that this "game" should be treated differently is just hypocritical imo.
Also to address No Man's Sky...BS!
I preordered that game, played it from day one.
No Man's Sky of day one was NOT a full game, it clearly was lacking advertised content and it was half baked hence the updates that finally finished the game.
VERSION 0.7.2.1 is now LIVE on Steam

Some people read EA and think "minor optimalisation to go, at half price" or even just "cheep game". If this is closer to your idea of EA then of course this would be just one big scam.
To disagree with the person few comms up, personally I think what No man's sky devs did was soo much worse than this. Early acces has it's own rules, but when you sell FULL game it better be two-gliches-to-perfect, or else. Sadly, not many developers these days really manage that.
I spend nearly 4 hours playing Day of Dragons as of yet. It's not much, but I managed to get killed few times, kill somone else, see all of the oasis, fall down some glichy rocks, roar back and forth with some other wyvern, have some silly conversation, and fly quite a bit, because inspite of what people're saying it's not just kill and be killed. A lot of it but not only that. I saw some people willing to protect any baby, and if you ask, you can get grown to adult by admin. It's certainly not the most poisonous community I've evers seen. Especialy since it's pvp multipayer. And it's out 2 days.
To sum it up: Yes, I think Day of dragons will redeem itself when given a chance. No, it's not much of a game right now, but enough for early EA. No, I don't think it's a scam and money grab, but time will tell. And finally, no, I don't think everyone and their grandma should try playing it now. If you generally don't like EA games - meaning finding silly and frustrating gliches, watching players react to, figure out and try to break new content, etc. then, please, don't buy it now. Reserve your judgement for when it's full out and don't sink it now with a negative.
We already got some things extra in the game compared to the sneakpeeks we got during the campaign. We got models purchased, custom sounds, soundtrack. Lots of plans and clearly an enthusiasm from the dev you can see in how fast they are getting the patches out.
I say as long as you see people hired to work on the game, you see the dev working on it... it is not a scam.
This doesnt mean it cannot be later but it is up to Jao to prove IGP wrong. And I think IGP's vid is just another motivation for the dev to keep going. We shall see what the future brings. I just hope Jao wont be stumped and give up at first first major hurdle that is bound to come his way.
I knew the models were placeholders from the time of the KS cause it was SAID they were. That was the whole initial POINT of the KS to get funds to REPLACE those store bought assets with custom models.
Is it a scam? I hardly think so as scammers in my experience 'take the money & run.' Jao has VERY much made enough money from the KS to run but HAS he? NO, They've hired theirs animator (work n actual models to start when animator comes on board at end if their current contract) But even so Jao has NOT disappeared...updates are posted in discord & steam patch thread.
Have they made mistakes? YES they're only human...& new at this but are working hard d to get this going. Where's my proof of that? DAY 1 of EA people had a hard time/got spawn killed repeatedly & NEXT DAY we had a patch putting in randomly spawned corpses. SAME evening as EA it was announced thus would happen at next patch of which I figured ok a week or so, especially as no ETA could be given but as already said patch came out the following evening along with other fixes.
In summary that is NOT the attitude of someone just out to scam you for a quick buck.
They made half a million in 6 weeks , do you really think a good scammer would stop there and not try to get more ? I dont agree that this is a scam , but im not convinced it isnt either and wont be until 6 months in after the release .
His concerns were fair, but he was not correct.
No, hence why they put it on Steam EA. Sounds like a scam, or biting off a lot more than they can chew.
