Can I transfer a save to OOTP 22?

Importing a game from a previous version of OOTP is very simple and easy to do. The only requirement we have is that you import from only the previous yearly version. So for example you can import an OOTP 19 game into OOTP 20. You cannot import an OOTP 19 game into OOTP 21 or 22. So as long as you import year to year for your save you can go so far as to import a game all the way from the likes of OOTP 14 all the way to 22 using a chain import system 14>15>16 etc.

To do the import all you need to do is launch the year of OOTP you wish to import a save to. So for this example we will use an OOTP 19 save being imported into OOTP 20. So if you have an OOTP 19 game you need to launch OOTP 20 to import that 19 save into 20. You should be able to use the demo versions of our softwares to do the imports without having to purchase every year of OOTP to do an import to our most recent game. Once you have launched the version you wish to import your save to you will need to select on the main menu the Import OOTP 19 Game option. This will bring up a pop up window where you will need to navigate to your OOTP 19 saved_games folder (which by default OOTP should start at) and find the save you wish to import. You will need to click on your save you wish to import (should be "savename".lg) to enter into that folder and locate the world.dat file. This is the file we need to select to have OOTP import the save into OOTP 20. Once you have selected that world.dat file and click Import the game will process that import for you automatically. Once it finishes the game should load up that save and you can immediately begin playing that save as usual with the new version of OOTP.

You can rinse and repeat this process for any other saves as well as future version of our software (OOTP 21 and 22) to bring your saves up to the latest version of OOTP you have purchased.
