One of the things we did add with OOTP 21 was an updated coach view when you want to hire them. We've included not just reputation but a relationships column that will display the relationship the coach will have with the players for the current level selected (current opportunity) and also the development influence on the players. This pairs up with the hitting/pitching focus info to give you a little more detailed info about coaches you can hire. You should be able to sort by dev influence now to get the best possible hitting coach, pitching coach, and even bench coaches and managers for the staff places you need to fill.
So no longer do you have to go to those coach profile tabs to see how well a coach will do with the minor league team you wish to hire him for. While I do understand it isn't a direct showing of the attributes the relationship and dev influence columns are representations of those attributes rating.
And while that may not be enough for some players it is a step in the right direction for people who have wanted more coach updates for years (me as well). We hope to continue moving forward each year with more things such as the changes we have made this year.
Thanks
Alex
I agree the sorting will help with managers. Right now I click through the managers now to see their relationship/development scores and that is largely what I use to decide who to hire.
I play historical/fictional GM only and often do some stats only play. The 3d modelling is great, but realistically I won't use it much. I have no interest in Perfect Team. So coaching, player personalities, the way players are evaluated, historical minors where there is no farm system and major league teams have to purchase their players... things like that are a much bigger deal to me than to most people.
In OOTP19 I'll pick a coach based on what they're asking for. If you've got 2 coaches with the same rep and the same experience, the one who is asking for more money will have the better stats.
As it stands, everyone - the AI teams and the coaches themselves - know how good the coaches are except for the player.
Thanks
Alex
