The gameplay is amazing, too. Easy enough for casuals to get into, and deep enough for those who prefer a more difficult approach, while everything still being interesting, fun and spectacularly done all at the same time.
The music is fantastic. Some soundtracks have nearly as much views already as the game got current players actively playing the game. Absolutely immersive.
The story, the sidestories, the banter, the humor, even the easy to overlook things like books and small messages are told with such a passion. It clearly shows. And it delivers in every aspect.
The voice actors are all picked very wisely and they do their job amazingly well.
Then its coop / multiplayer right from the start. People can play this straight away with their family and friends - including full controller support - while easy to setup. Controller UI and controls automatically activate with the press of a gamepad button and switches back to keyboard + mouse controls with the press of a keyboard or mouse button.
There is so much I didn't even mention here but heck, in this game everything screams "Masterpiece!" really.
Regarding the budget of this beauty though, I'd assume it has cost Larian a fortune and a pact with the devil himself.
