Character is stuck & won't move at the beginning

So, I have updated and uninstalled and reinstalled and nothing works. As my character jumps off the pod in the beginning, he just stands there, unable to move / jump / use or cast a spell.

Is there something I can still do to fix this or is this a lost cause? I have deleted all the saves and started from scratch but the bug just persists. I played the unofficial version that was still being developed with no problems..
