Throwing damage bugs

Whenever I throw a weapon or objects, there's like a high chance the game bugs out and just rolls a single d4 or even 1-1. Sometimes it adds the weapon damage, sometimes it doesn't. Sometimes it'll roll the weapon damage, but it won't show in the combat log. sometimes it rolls for crushing damage when it would be applicable, sometimes it doesn't. Like when I throw a 20 pound chest on some one from like 30 meters up and hit my target, it'll do 1 damage to them, then hit the ground and the chest will take 96 damage. I feel like maybe it's been happening since I got the displace talent, but I'm not entirely sure if it's happened before that. Basically if it's not a weapon throw on completely level ground, it's going to bug out, and even that isn't always guaranteed.

This upsets me greatly because I really REALLY like throwing things.

threw a chest, I have no idea what it rolled for but it's the only time it did damage, and it got lodged in his head.

this isn't the only place I've experienced it of course but just an example of what keeps happening.

Okay I forgot weapon need the "thrown" property to do proper damage, so that's part of it. I still don't know why it's sometimes 1-4, sometimes 1-1. Either way, crushing damage from height and weight seems to be extremely rarely applied and rather weak when it does.
