Multiclass spell casting modifier woes

The game is riddled with issues concerning the spellcasting modifier used by spells for multiclassed characters. For Example, If you want to play a druid/paladin, the minute you gain a level in paladin, your shillelagh will start scaling off charisma. This happens even if you acquired shillelagh before dipping paladin and even if your wisdom is the higher stat. Strangely, this will happen with spells obtained through magic initiate or spell sniper DESPITE the fact that the tool tip claims otherwise. While this can be beneficial if, say, you want to use spell sniper: eldritch blast on a wizard, it can outright cripple some potential multi-class builds (of which I am very fond) such as the aforementioned druid/paladin issue. I have difficulty determining exactly HOW this spell casting modifier is assigned, because it doesn't seem to pertain to which class has more levels, which ability modifier is larger, or what order the multi-class is established.

This is such a prominent issue that I would be surprised if it is not known to Larian or the playerbase, but a cursory search of this board as well as google does not bring up much on the topic. I hope that in the next patch, this issue is addressed.

There should be a button to switch between cha and wis casting when you select it if both classes have the cantrip. If it is listed as a Paladin spell under your paladin spell list then that is why it is not using your wisdom.

Yep totally bugged, no button to switch between casting modes like Warlock. Warlock is only spellcaster that is uneffected by the ESL bs that is going on. The fact that paladin/ranger/eldrich/trickster get 1/3 ELS causes the Spellcasting modifier to apparently be random between whichever class was leveled last....

Just thought I’d bump my post to say this is still an issue. Glad to see I’m not the only one whose noticed, but given how apparent this issue is (at least to me) I’m very surprised it hasn’t been patched out yet.

Still an issue. Cleric/Warlock with WIS focus and keeps pulling CHA for the mod
