Game won't load at all anymore

Last weekend when I tried the game it loaded and opened fine. This weekend (no hardware changes) it won't load at all.

With Larian's starter page as soon as I click the play, the "Allow bg3 to to make changes to your device" come up and I say Yes... then it goes away. And Larain says and error has occurred... validate files next start, I say Yes, type what you were doing when this error occurred... so I type during the load (no screen for bg3 is shown besides windows asking about making changes).

So I reboot and try again, wait for validation... same things occurs. Reboot, uninstall and reinstall entire game.... same exact thing.

Ensure that bg3 and bg3_dx11 are on Administrator... check video card drivers... remove start up screen to Larian (maybe that's causing it....

Now when I click play from Steam, the button changes to stop... I get "Allow bg3 to make changes..." click Yes.... button changes to play... bg3 doesn't load at all.

I'm getting nothing at all, it's frustrating and very disappointing. I worked all week and made no changes to my PC.

Any thoughts on when might help would be appreciated. Right now, I'm thinking about asking for a refund from Steam because the game will not run/open or start.

Did you uninstall using RevoUninstaller with advanced scan?

No I used Steam's uninstaller. I was following one of your previous posts about clearing Steams Download Cache and lost the post to continue because steam reset.

I've downloaded the free version of Revo Uninstaller and BG 3 doesn't show up at all.

Hm... yeah. It should only show up there when it is actually installed. Once the installer is gone, it cannot help anymore,

Are you using discord with its experimental features?

I have Discord, but it's not loaded at all. Don't believe I try any of the experimental features. I'm still flowing through your Cleaning Cache guide... then I'll re-install... if it doesn't work... then uninstall with revo and try the guide walk-thru again.

I appreciate the assistance you're trying to give people.

I've asked for a refund. I am so fed up of trying to fix this after it ran fine the first day or two I played. I work during the week, come back excited to continue and it won't load anymore... all because of their patches. Just ridiculous... and I really like the first few hours that I played.

what i find extremely frustrating is that for me, the crash isn't even generating a crash report, and when i reported it to Larian it's one of the things they ask for, i've reported this straight away on the 8th and no answer just yet.
Just tried uninstalling the game with Revo as mentioned above and issue remains still, only thing i haven't tried yet from what i've found online is reinstalling windows...
I think it might have something to do with steam as the pirate game i downloaded works just fine and has the hotfixes too, just i'd like keep playing on my save and getting the achievements, plus not a cheap game to just ignore the money you spent on it

Yea, steam said I play more than two hours... so no refund for me. So I get a $60 game tyat doesn't work anymore after a patch... Larian/Steam... they don't care, they got their money.

How long did you actually play?

10 hours... but I'm basically at the start. I'm just restarted after trying it the first time (blindly) and caused a huge druid fight.. then realized that wasn't the best option. So wanted to start over

Might have found a temp fix... but I lost my saves... maybe I can download them off of Steam. Why? STEAM's THE PROBLEM! I turned off Steam and manually loaded the executable... game loaded fine. Something in STEAM is blocking it.

Played the game through the crash.... saved and quit. Loaded Steam... game will not load same issues. Closed Steam.... game load fine again. Again it's Steam that's the issue.

Just bought it last night and I'm in the same boat. Launches crashes and then want to verify integrity of files. It's not consistent though. After several tries it does eventually load, but then there is sound during the Larian logo splash screen then no sound after that.
After deleting cache and all the stuff I saw here and reddit it did launch WITH SOUND, hurray! I played about and hour and went to bed. This morning back to crashing...

i7-13700, 3080ti, Win 10 updated to latest, GPU driver updated to latest.

I heard such good stuff about this game no being rushed and working great, but my experience so far isn't living up to that. May just refund and come back in a few months when it's less buggy.
