Game Crash After Installing Mods

I have been able to play BG3 since launch. I was playing and enjoying the game just fine, but saw a buddy playing with some simple mods (faster leveling, level 20 multiclass, and NPC companion editor). I installed those apps with their instructions and the game wouldn't launch.

I have since removed the mods but the error persists. I can't launch the game without a crash. I even uninstalled it, and reinstalled it with no effect. I still get the error. I uninstalled it again, verified no installation files remained in steamapps, and am in the process of reinstalling now. If it doesn't launch after this (I'll update) I'm at a loss for what to do. The error appears to be saying there is something missing in the main menu that causes the game launch to fail.

Can someone help me figure out how to use the mods successfully? At a very minimum, I'd like to be able to just run the base game with no mods again. If someone could help me get that far, I'd appreciate it. Being able to run the game with the mods would be a bonus that I don't need; I just want to play again.
