Game keeps randomly crashing

i currently have the issue that my game just randomly crashes every 10-20min, the game just closes and the crash report opens up to send, i already threid following things to fix it:

- Run game as Administrator
- Try Vulkan and DX11, both behave the same
- Fully disabled my Anti-Virus
- Verfied the game files
- reinstalled the game
- put graphic settings at windows for both bg.exe and bg3_dx11.exe at high perfromance
- installed the latest nVidia driver 536.99
- set the game priority to Real Time
- disabled full screen optimisazion
- tried the compatibility mode with Win 8
- running the nVidia experinece recommendet optimal setting

my specs are as followed:

AMD Ryzen 7 7700X
RTX 4070 12GB
36GB DDR5 6000mhz
Running of a seperate D-Drive WD_Black SN850X SSD

Noticed a few ppl reporting it was since the last update, i had this issues since yesterday and i noticed my Windows 11 Pro also updated two days ago to KB5029263

Edit 2:
Deinstalled the KB5029263 still keeps crashing randomly

Try play with vulcan in fullscreen mode. Also turn off nvidia settings running in the background and any other programs that are running in the background. Set the fps to max 60.

I had the same problem as you and these things seems to have fixed it for me.

I got a i7-12700k, rtx 3060 ti, 2tb ssd, 32gb ram.

tried that, crashed within 10sec in game giving me a fatal vulkan error

does this happen when you attack with one of your character? if yes this is probably an item that add buff stack(in my case helmet of arcane acuity) check the buffs on your character if one of them have more that 20+ stack it's the red flag! remove the item that add those stacks and the crashes will stop

no it just happens randomly since the last hotfixes, at launch the game ran perfectly normal and now it crashes doesn't matther what i do in game, it's like the game Alt+F4 it self and the "send crashreport" window opens up

I have this too, first day of release no problems. Then 2nd,3rd day it happend sometimes, but always with an error. Now after the 2.0/2.1 hotfixes my game is basicaly playing crash roulette…. I’m fine with crashing but it happens on such random occasions. Sometimes on game load sometimes while saving sometimes while just looking around… I counted up, I somehow have 80 hours in the game on steam but my save file says 52 hours played. So that means ive been having to replay and wait in menu’s and restart for about 30 hours….. wtf

So after a 2 days of playing without crashes, it seems i've started crashing multiple times today. They released a small patch earlier wich i suspect might be the cause.

same issue and tried everything i can think of to no avail, was having to run game in vulcan as drivers would crash with ddx11 and was working fine untill recently

The same, since the last patch. And ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ why do they make the settings / EULA / GAMMA reset every time it crashes.

Every crash it resets all my settings.....

same here well not every crashe but lets say 3 out of 5 crashes all my gamma/HDR settings are being reset.

as i also got an DXIG_ERROR_HUNG all of the sudden i looked up to fix it as since i did that the game dind't crash besides onces but have now been playing for good 4h without issues

I was getting constant crashes about every 5 minutes or so. My system specs are:

Asus TUF Gaming X570
Ryzen 9 5950X
RTX 3080
64GB DDR4 RAM
M.2 SSD Drive

I tried about a dozen different "fixes" and nothing worked. Ended up deleting my Windows 11 install and doing a fresh install of Windows 10. Haven't had a single crash in about 8 hours of playing since doing so.

i've been getting random crashes every now and then, possibly related to some mods, however even without mods i still got crashes using vulcan.

Same issue but only in the cursed-shadow lands. Everywhere else is fine, but when there, it's unplayable. Crashing constantly. Tried disabling vsync, switched back and forth from vulkan to DX11, same result. Have no issues in Act 1 at all. But as soon as im in shadow lands, every few minutes it crashes to desktop.
