\\?\c:\users\steamusers\AppData\Local\LarianStudios\Baldur's Gate 3\ModCrashSanityCheck Path not found.
Literally just bought the game and installed, no mods. First thing that pops up after hitting launch.
thx for putting it up, I was on my phone couldn't write it all up. It's indeed this directory that is problematic, and it kinda make sense since on a stock steamdeck OS the folders are clearly not setup this way. At least it not possible to browse files like on pc.
Wishing there'll be a solution soon other than what other post suggest which implies installing custom stuff all around the place on a steamdeck. Took this device for it's ease of access there's no way i start to fiddle with custom linux stuff.
Once on this beta launching one time worked, then putting the "none" beta option to get the latest update 8 and the error is gone.
Be aware it took around 1hours to revert in and out of the beta branch but now it works !
For me, the "Baldur's Gate 3" folder was missing inside the "Larian Studios" folder, so it fails to create the "ModCrashSanityCheck" folder. Simply creating an empty "Baldur's Gate 3" folder was enough to fix it.
I did the following:
In desktop mode, open the file browser and enable "Show Hidden Files" in the settings on the top-right.
Navigate to "home/deck/.steam/steam/steamapps/compatdata/1086940/pfx/drive_c/users/steamuser/AppData/Local/Larian Studios".
Press "Create New > Folder" in the settings at the top right and name it "Baldur's Gate 3".
Then launch the game again.
This fixed it for me! I am not good with computers but this was an easy thing to do. Thanks a lot!
Hey this worked for me too thank you so much 😭❤️
Attempting this now and hoping it works!
