A ton of icons are invisible, both in character creation and in-game

I downloaded this game for the first time on this pc. I got help from my friend with navigation. When I was supposed to create my first character, a ton of icons are supposedly invisible. The descriptions do show when hovering over them. This wasn't a big deal in character creation, but in-game it makes it hard to play.
Downloading the game for the first time on another pc works despite being the same account and doing everything the same.
I did not have any mods installed when this problem came, because it was my first time playing the game

My specs are:
i5-12400
RTX 3050
16GB DDR4 (3600 MT/s)
Kingston SNVS1000G [1 TB] (Has both steam and the game installed on it)
Windows 11 Home ver. 23H2

I have tried the following (Not necessarily in order):
Updating drivers (Graphic card, processor)

Redownloading, verifying integrity, and fixing
Downloaded mods to fix any UI-related issues. (Using modmanager)
Switching icon.pak files
Changing around stuff in the graphic settings of the game

This is an odd one. You've done basically everything one would normally suggest to fix the issue. And it doesn't seem like your specs would be the problem. My only other thought is that Steam Cloud messed things up when you went through the Cleaning Cache guide.

So, as annoying as it might be, my suggestion would be to turn off Steam Cloud (temporarily if you wish) and do the Cleaning Cache and validate steps again, after removing any mods. Edit: Perhaps even a full reinstall if neither of those work.

I agree. It looks like a mod issue to begin with.

I think I managed to find a solution. The log files of the game shows that my OS operated in Norwegian while the game operated in English. When I changed the system language to English, the icons in the game became visible.

In addition, I did delete the cache folders from AppData\Local\Larian Studios and the PlayerProfiles folder in AppData\Local\Larian Studios\Baldur's Gate 3
Then I ran the bg3_dx11.exe directly from the bin folder.

I will keep this thread updated if the problem repeats itself.
