SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS - asking for a suggestion
Greetings all. I would like some advice, suggestions, and please do refrain from "troll" answers.

I recently bought BG3. Unfortunately, my computer struggles to run it, something that I was already aware that could happen. I know I don't have the most up-to-date hardware but I had hoped that it would run smoother.
My issue is this that my CPU reaches 100% every few seconds, freezing the game for a few seconds. Apart that, I don't have another issue. Temperature reaches around 65+ oC.
I tried to lower all settings to the lowest that they can (low and very low), but nothing really changed.
Since I currently don't have the budget to buy a new CPU along with the rest of the hardware that would need to be changed, does any of you have any suggestion for me on what to do?

Thank you for your time.

Also, my hardware are:
Motherboard: GIGABYTE Z97X-GAMING 5
Graphic Card: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 Ti
CPU: Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-4570 @ 3.20GHz
RAM: 16GB1

Have you tried both vulkan and dx11? You can choose it on the launcher.

Good idea, I didn't even think about it. To be honest, I've only tried the recommended one (Vulkan), but I'll try the other one as well and give feedback!

Ok, after two days of testing, I feel that dx11 works better than vulkan for my pc, although it still has sporadic freezes. At least they are not as often as before.

Hopefully both options will be better on release

Coming back more days later, after all dx11 didn't help that much. It seems the freezes are quite random and from what I saw from the Larian Forums more people with better specs than me have the same issue for years now.
I do hope this gets fixed cause freezing every few seconds/minutes can be frustrating.

Your CPU is just under minimum requirements and your GPU is way way way under the minimum requirements.

You should pick vulcan (better for low stats) turn down all the settings (all on lowest) and play on 720p and you might get a decent experience, but no guarantie.

(the minimum required GPU is like 50% better than your GPU, to put that into perspective)

I don´t want to be rude! I understand not all can afford or want to get newer/better hardware, but your setup is ancient and entry/budget level. It just wont cut it anymore for new AAA releases.

If possible, I suggest you save up/buy a new setup (it does not have to become very expenssive) if not, then if you can´t get proper FPS, refund the game once it fully release.

The minimum GPU here on steam is Nvidia GTX 970 which i don't think is better then his NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 Ti.
But his CPU is under the minimum requirements.

My system is also a bit older:

Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-6700 CPU @ 3.40GHz
Ram 16 GB
Windows 10 (64 Bit)
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1070 with 8 GB

I hope i can run BG3 without to many problems?

Update so far:
Even if my pc isn't the most updated and struggles on its own, after a lot of online research I found out that a lot people with way better pcs than mine have the same issue since patch 9.
Hopefully, this will be only and EA (early access) issue and it will be patched after launch.

Apart from that, I read many articles and forum posts online and one of the suggestions was to set the game on high priority from the task manager. This seems to have lowered the random freezing but my only issue is that it's not permanent (it goes back to normal priority on its own).

I don´t have any issues at all and consistently get over 90 FPS on highest settings on 1440p.
Your system is below the minimum with some of your hardware, you should not expect this to suddenly change upon release and you being able to pull high fps and medium settings ie..

The 970 is around 70% better than a 1050ti
Don´t get confused about the first numbers (they are the generation, the 970 is a 9th generation and the tier is a 70. The 1050ti, is 10th generation, but only a 50ti.

on 1080p I assume. Try playing with all on lowest and set a FPS limit on ie. 60 or 80
Then you can always try to work your way up.
Remember to update all your drivers (also bios, audio, etc)

Same here, it's the CPU. When it reaches 100% (panning around/something happens for the first time (like dialog or cutscene) it can freeze for 2 seconds. I would wait for the release version before acting, My PC plays Red Dead Redemption 2/Witcher 3/Warhammer Total War 3 on high or ultra without problems, Baldurs Gate 3 runs with 50-70 fps but this early access has this problem. Sometimes it freezes and then its back again to 50-70 fps. Same scene, same environment. And some say it's an issue which was introduced with a patch (8 or 9) so maybe the full release will have this fixed.
