INTENSE Stuttering and Slowness After New Update
I played the game last yesterday and it was running smoothly and beautifully.

I jump on today and it is stuttering so bad it's like everything is lagging - like when you watch Youtube but your WIFI is cutting out.

I read online and in some forums about other people having this issue and it all had to do with Mods... I have never installed mods for BG3 so that can't be the issue. I even went and looked in my files for some of the files people say to check and nothing.

Can anyone help me with this? I would be greatly appreciative. I have a lot of hours in the game but it's never done something like this before.

(And I know someone will ask about graphics, but my graphics are set very high because I have a brand new PC that I splurged on and it can run the game on top graphics - as smooth as butter.)

I also struggled with annoying stutters for a long time since patch 6 and "hotfixes" after that. The only things that helped are: 1) to play totally offline (disable all network connections before starting the game) (I have a GOG version and it can be started while offline, not sure about Steam version) and 2) not using any mods. Some more strange options that seemed to help (but I'm not sure) are: 1) starting the game in DX11 mode as administrator (vulkan is absolutely unstable for me - instant crashes to desktop after a few minutes); 2) changing rendering resolution in main menu (before loading a save) to any lower resolution than your native monitor resolution + windowed mode, then changing the resolution back to your native monitor resolution + fullscreen mode, then load a save

Not bad. Fullscreen is a Windows legacy feature and ought to cause issues nowadays.
