"Data Mismatch" (Patch 7, 09/09/2024)
So I got this message when I was on launcher. Stated it was caused by unsupported mods, corrupt files, or unknown data. I try verify the files via steam but no luck.
Anyone got it and any idea on solution (or should I ignore it since so far, I don't have any mods)?

i waited like 5 hours and it wont complete installation because "some files are missing" also no mods, not sure if its the same thing. great way to ruin a perfectly fine weekend day><
at some point it said it needed a year to complete the installation :steamfacepalm:

I got that warning too. Just ignored it loaded the game. It worked fine. But for security I dropped back out, and back in again, no warning, no issue.

I suspect that it might be that the main menu adds the Mod Manager icon/link. But I could be utterly wrong.

That is different if the update won't complete. Sounds like you need to take more drastic action like Uninstalling and Reinstalling. Follow the guide.

You are absolutely correct. The ingame mod manager and especially the toolkit are considered modifications/additions to the game.

Mod creators do ignore the warning, as they know what they are doing, wanting the modifications. If the issue persists after removing the toolkit/disabling the toolkit DLC from the game's properties, one can clean the game's cache to remove the mismatch announement. But if one has never used mods it can be safely ignored.

The guide about the thread specific issue is up to date

Most likely a result of permission error. Follow the game update routine to prevent the issue in the future altogether.

Verifying the ingame files will never help if you used mods once. You need to remove them cleanly. In doubt cleanup the whole game, or use your backup

Well, as I said I have no mods installed at all.

Except of course, that you are on Patch 7 that adds the Mod Manager menu, which the game files consider to be a Mod.
So ignore the warning and you should be OK. Provided, of course that you have no mods installed and never had any installed.
