A-Bug! Can't progress: can't save, load, or interact with any character or object

I can play for a while fine and then something weird happens that makes my NPCs stop following my main character. Character can't talk to or interact with any characters, objects or anything. I can usually move around that main character but can't do anything. 1st time (Sacred Grove 1st visit after bartering) I couldn't even call up the save/load menu. Had to command tab out of game and close / reload.

Other 4 times I can use Esc to open the save/load menu but game will not actually save or load. I can go through motions then...nothing happens and I am stuck with one character running around unable to do anything.
Every time, I must quit out and go back to last save. Today I had to redo a major goblin battle in Shattered whatever and then for the first time, this same bug occurred in the near-end of a much more major battle. On the last two goblins, the Bear Druid was in the midst of his turn and then the game wouldn't progress. He could keep running around well past his 10M limit but couldn't attack.
[Interesting side note: When the bug occurred, the dead suddenly appeared to be standing. I wasn't able to target them but it was like the dead body state reverts to the living state when the bug triggers]
Happened about 5 times or more. Seems more frequent in Goblin village / Shattered temple so far.
[I can open group menu but couldn't level up characters in one case.
I can open map and journal.
I can open inventory, but not actually move items, drop items, or add items to slots.
No attacking, to talking, no interacting at all.]

Game is new and basically this bug has ended all most every session I've had and is very frustrating.
