New Update broke my steam and game
For some reasons it stays like 1 hours ''installing'' and checking the files over and over again, it downloaded the patch like 4 times already, am i the only one?

Do you have the game on a HDD instead of an SSD? If so, it could just be taking a long time. Start it and go watch a movie or something.

I and other people have had a similar problem with God of War, where it says it will take a long time to do the installation after the download. The solution was to temporarily disable all anti-virus. For me it was caused by Windows Defender. In the search bar start typing Virus & threat protection, go to that and disable real time protection for awhile. Then try to install it and wait patiently and see what happens.

I've heard disabling anti virus helps with a lot of installation and patching issues for all kinds of games, but I personally never had a problem with it until God of War, and haven't again since.

Did you restart your PC before you started downloading the patch?

Nope, just restarted it because my ssd was on 100% and i wasn't able to do ♥♥♥♥ because of steam, and now i don't have the problem, it's just downloading all the 60gb again, in a few minutes i could tell if it fixed or nah.

Depending on the result there is a simple explaination why it should work now.

Same issue here ... after downloading the 25GB Patch it is now trying to install ... Steam shows 1% for almost 20Minutes now. I'm also using SSD.

Share a DxDiag report and a screenshot of your Steam Storage Settings

Steam writes that there is not enough space and does not install anything, although the disk is free 70GB...

I have an issue as well. Just checked by clicking the Browse Local Files option, it clearly shows BG3 is installed on my SSD (which is C), but task manager shows HDD (D) at 100% usage, which I think is what's causing the infinite Verifying stuck problem for me at 0mb/s. Anyone know why it's processing my HDD when it doesn't even have the game installed on it?

Why should anyone tell you if you ignore the guide linked which addresses that?

Bruh if the stated amount (the update says 30-40gb required) isn't enough on SSD, what makes you think people have a USB w/ even more space?
