[ACT III Spoilers] AID THE UNDERDUKE
I went to the counting house with jaheira and others to stop Minsc. I knocked him unconscious, and the entire area was bugging out. Some of the bhaalists decided not to move and I had to manually reveal and attack them whilst they were revealed (i let volo modern-art my ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ head); the cashguards did not move (not sure if this was intended for them to be cowardly)

After the battle concluded and Minsc initiated a conversation with me, I forced the emperor to extend his protection to him despite his protests. Minsc gets up, sees Jaheira and goes to look for boo, and at this particular point things COMPLETELY break.

The cutscene shows him "running off" and ends, and he just ends up standing there. When I looked it up, people said to "Heal him and then knock him out again" so I did, then long-rested, then tried talking to him; and it was as if we were supposed to be having a cutscene in a different room where he introduces us to Boo. He joins our party, and we "uncover a plot for a coup with the bhaalists & zhentarim planned against ninefingers. We head to the guild hall, and ninefingers does not acknowledge that the Stonelord is standing in front of her, whilst also telling us she "wont call off the hit" but also to keep the bald guy out of trouble. So I go outside and kill the Zhentarim and no one other than the other zhentarim object to my murder, and ninefingers still doesn't acknowledge it and it doesnt change the quest's progress. Then I knocked nine fingers out, healed her and longrested. Nothing. Then I killed her. Still nothing, even though it says "Minsc wants to 'deal' with Nine-fingers and the zhentarim." How much more dealt with could they be if every last blood cell in their collective bodies has been spilled to stain the entire floor of the office and I've turned them all into zombies?

What the hell am I supposed to do?

I think that Minsc is supposed to escape with the doppelganger Jaheira. I guess that is what is screwing up the dialogues etc. But I am surprised that Larian hadn't planned for this eventuality.

PS How did you manage to knock Minsc out that fast... must have been first round.

i have a gloomstalker ranger astarion and my custom pc is a dual weilding fighter thief; also a cleric and jaheira who i guess i just made a druid so she could tag along

i give both my pc and astarion elixirs of bloodlust, and both of us get extra attacks as well as my character getting 4 attacks without bloodlust but if i/astarion kill anything, we both get an extra action; so sometimes i will soften an enemy up, dink it with one of my hand crossbows and proceed to get an extra attack with either/both of them. if you drink a potion speed, thats another action for 3 turns ontop of that. not even including action surge

he (and also jaheira) didnt really get a chance to move because both of us have such high initiative from all the DEX, so we just beat the hell out of "jaheira" first and then we beat the hell out of minsc and then killed everyone else in the room (except for the cashguards who didnt seem to care/do anything even after the fight was over and we robbed the entire place, possibly another bug?) in hindsight i think one of the cashguards was attacking another one of the cashguards with their smite attacks so there was probably some spaghetti code going on there. but no, i killed "jaheira" before she could even move, and then i guess minsc didnt want to leave and he acted as if she had really died next to him so i _thought_ that was supposed to happen but that he would run away from the room to look for boo

i also grabbed 10K out of "jaheira's" cartoonish sack of bank-robber's money; and the dwarf guy asked me to give it back without ever recognizing that she never left the room in the first place. simply put im leaving that quest open lol but eveyrthing i did was vanilla. i dont have any mods and didnt do anything extraneous that really shouldve broken the quest

I bow to your experience, and mighty character builds. Now why the heck didn't I think of any of that?

Sorry, but it seems that you are just too good at this game. Since I am not, and you clearly can do this, then there is even more reason to wonder why Larian did not foresee this issue. But the only people who can answer that are Larian.

Sadly, yes, it seems like you have broken this quest. Hopefully that won't have too many further consequences. I remain impressed.

The same thing has happened with with me; also same with guards. In my case I, i think i was able to hit Minsc with 'Hold Person' and, with KO enabled, defeated Minsc. I also found the money bag and gave it to the sad dwarf, but for some reason still had it in my inventory.
But sad that it seems the quest itself is just buggered out. I do have this way point that i think relates to the quest the points to the under city, but there isn't anything there that i noticed.

Same happened for me after knocking out Minsc. Now I can't go on with the quest and I don't know how to keep going, I want Nine Finger on my side but going back to the bank will take away a lot of hours.

You can report the issue to Larian Support that knocking Minsc out in this first fight causes this to happen. That way someone at Larian Studios will get eyes on it and they can fix it at some point. Other than that I recommend going back to your last save before the fight and try again from there without knocking Minsc out in that fight.
Minsc isn't a fast thinker, so storywise if you knock him out there and wake him up he'd not believe you anyway. Meaning there's no point in chasing an early Minsc conversion.
