"Raphael left without revealing anything about Astarion's scars. It seems if we want answers, we'll need to reach Baldurs gate ans ask Cazador himself."
I've played this quest before (this is my Dark Urge playthrough) and this problem has never happened before. Do you know what could be causing this problem? I've had other minor bugs, but nothing that has affected the game's storyline this much.
Once I got to act3, went straight to Caza and “smacked him”.
I've put a lot of effort into doing this playthrough carefully and building the story in a very specific direction. This may be ridiculous, but this bug bothers me beyond words, and I'm not at all thrilled with the idea of continuing the story in this format.
I just went back to a week old save to get back to the very first time I learned of Astarion's scars after we slept together, focused entirely on continuing his questline up to meeting Raphael outside the mausoleum (with Astarion as the character leading the group) where I agreed to kill the orthon, but Astarion acted like he wasn't standing RIGHT THERE when Raphael asked us to kill his enemy, proceeded to kill the orthon AGAIN, and the quest updated in the journal with "Raphael left without revealing anything about Astarion's scars." AGAIN.
This is extremely frustrating. I have zero mods, it's a fresh install on a brand new pc, and I don't know if it's worth my time to start a whole new game, when I don't know if this bug will occur yet again.
So I just had the same problem and Astarion was definetly in my party. Here is how you CAN tackle the problem. Disband your group (aka leave you party behind) and approach Raphael with Astarion in Act II before entering the Mausoleum in the Shadowcursed Land. He will have a cutscene with Raphael that leaves you without the usual dialogue options. The interaction is pretty much the same as if you approached with another character. Just without the dialogue options. Afterwards the update in your journal will leave out the part stating that Raphael left without Astarion talking to him.
Seems like a bug to me to be honest. And if it isn't it feels quite weird
