Split Screen low fps, lags, freezes, glitches

When playing on a split screen, at minimum graphics settings, the video card gets very hot, the game slows down, lags, freezes, glitches, FPS drops to 7-9 at times, and in open locations it does not even reach 40. Moreover, it is very unstable - there are drawdowns, and if play alone without a split screen, then everything goes very well, FPS does not drop, sometimes with any actions the 2nd player appears black squares on the split screen, can this be fixed somehow?

P.S videocard 2070rtx, processor i5 9600k, RAM 32GB frequency 3200, game installed on ssd, sorry for my English

Hi, i'm probably late but i have the same problem.

I'm looking for a solution from weeks now and i can't find it.

It can't be a performance issue because i have a Ryzen 9 5900x and a RTX 2080 (I have played games havier then BG3 without any problem).

Did you manage to fix it?

alas, in general everything remains the same, although there are improvements after the patches. I also turned on DLSS (performance), although it became a little better, but in Act 3 there are still drops in FPS

I confirm it! After the 5th patch, all the above problems began + random crashes! It's terribly annoying! We have not been able to play with my wife for 2 weeks! On patch 4, everything was fine - and the performance of the game in Act 3, and there were never any crashes at all! We just have to go through a couple of quests and the final of the game, and here is SUCH an *SS!
