Patch 3 lag
This new patch rollout has lead to an almost unplayable amount of animation lag. everything now has a second or two of delay, jumping, attacking, interacting, ect, now is so much slower. Like the rotating floor puzzle in act 1 selune's temple took about 5 minutes just because of the slowdown each time.
Any tips on how to make it playable? or is there a way to force roll back to an earlier build?

Agreed.
My PC - RX 6600 XT and i7 - 10 core/20 threads
but After todays update it's unreal lags , freazes and micro-stops.
Now playing part 3 in the city.
It's literaly imposible to play now.

Try these first to address the lag

Having the same issues. Noticed going through savegames that only savegames of my current playthrough are affected and the latest save that is not affected is from september 19th around 18:00 (UTC +1:00).

I'm having the same issue and I think I know why, I've gone back through old saves and I have found that it stops lagging on the save before I destroyed the statues in the "Underground Passage" which is in the Grove. I've found its any the 3 near the water that cause it for me. If you chose to test it ive found you may have to leave the area before you feel the lag.

I'm having the same issue with my current save, but only around the combat it seems. It's making it unplayable when a round takes three times longer than it should.

I've been getting unreasonable lag in act 3 all the time since patch. Constant freezes and huge lag followed by a minute of stability until it returns
MAMATALKATIRI Sep 22, 2023 @ 7:10pm
literally unplayable since the new patch, the visual stutter make my game crashes every single time

That is so specific it could just be the cause
I also blasted the statues in this play through, but not another
previous play through doesn't have the animation lag, and my earliest save on this play through doesnt have the lag (right before meeting whithers)

I did the cache clean guide, and no dice. I'm iffy on getting the program in the second guide. Rolling back game version may be my only shot, but also that seems like an all day expenditure worth of downloading.

Tried this out, and amazing - it works. As soon as i destroy the statue, leaving the area the issue is starting, and/or reloading a save with the statue destroyed. Going back to pre destruction of the statue saves and the game runs normal again.

I'll test this out, I wonder if anything can be done to fix the statues
I did it so early in the game too, since thats an easy place to get an oil barrel to take out some combustible druids

Went back to room with broken statues, and the lag seems even worse here (about 4 or 5 seconds to jump)
and the statues are constantly wiggling in place.
CPU and ram arent maxed out, so i dont think its a memory leak issue, but also would the game be rendering these even in another part of the map?
Cinemax Sep 22, 2023 @ 8:51pm
It just stutters every few seconds. I can be in a mostly static empty area like below the warehouse or in the middle of town and the nonstop stutters happen regardless. Potato or high settings. DLSS or no, doesn't matter. It just sucks. Last patch introduced random CTD so I waited for this one and now the game plays like ass.

I remember i had the statues wiggling around in place in the older version as well (so the animation i don't think is related to the lag) - i think we have to wait for larian to fix this with a hotfix.

Game is unplayable to me since patch 3 and I'm only in act 1... even at the title screen I'm down to 1-2 FPS. Ran fine before the update.
carvajrBR Sep 23, 2023 @ 3:54am
I have the same issue after the patch, and I did destroy the statues in the grove. I hope they can fix it.

EDIT: I don't have a save for when I destroyed the statues, but a save that could be just before that (I was at the grove) is the one where the delay disappears. SO it may be that the destruction of the statues is what triggers the issue.
