Script Extender not working :(

So I've downloaded the script extender by Norbyte for some mods (specifically AppearanceEdit and KvCampEvents), and I've done the thing where I copy paste the file and put it into the game's bin. However, the mods refuse to work, both of them having a pop up that says "Requires the Script Extender (currently installed version is v1)."

Does anyone have any ideas on what I should do or what I'm doing wrong? I'm not very tech savvy when it comes to messing around with my game files, so I might've done something wrong idk. I just want to change up my Tav's hair :')
