Face and tattoo mods wont work

So I have downloaded the mod manager and some of my other mods such as hair and some little tweaks work well. But for some reason I cant import face or tattoo mods to the mod manager. Each time I try it says that the import was successful at the bottom of the screen but I cant see the said mod anywhere. I have tried several different mods for face but nothing has worked so far. Does anyone have an idea why?

My understanding is that mods for tattoos and such generally aren't .pak files and would need to be put directly into the data folder of your BG3 files. However, I'm not sure how well that works either as I have been trying to get several to work myself and can never seem to.
