Modded Multiplayer Issue BG3 Mod Manager
I've been trying to join a modded multiplayer lobby and can't. Every time I join the game, it goes back to the main menu. I've checked multiple times to see if I had the incorrect versions of the mods but that is not it. I have all of the correct mods. All of the mods are installed on C:\Users\Alexa\AppData\Local\Larian Studios\Baldur's Gate 3\Mods with my mod manager. The game data path preference is B:/SteamLibrary/steamapps/common/Baldurs Gate 3/Data . The game executable path is B:/SteamLibrary/steamapps/common/Baldurs Gate 3/bin/bg3.exe . All mods are loaded.

Everyone else is able to join except for me. When they try joining me, the get the same issue I get. The game loads back to the main menu. What could be the issue or did i skip a step in putting the mods?

I've turned off my firewall and any other security software that could be preventing me from running the mods too.

All mods using are
BasketEquipmentCampClothing
BasketEquipmentNSFW
BetterLoot
LevelCurveAdjusted
Tav'sHairpack
True Initiative
Ancient Jewelry Roelplay
ImprovedUi
No Romance limit
DWrite.dll
Party Limit Begone

Having this same issue. Created our own collection to guarantee we all have the same mods on the same version. None of us are able to connect to one another.

Should note that we are using the Vortex Mod Manager for this.

Kinda late in response but unsure if ya resolved or not. Suggestion at least for BG3. Avoid using Vortex as your mod loader. Look ingo BG3 mod Loader instead, Vortex has issues with it at current performing the correct mod checksum report and even though it helps keep your mods up to date which is awesome it has a few issues. BG3 mod loader however you can direct export your mod list that are .pak files and your load order and then friends can import those to there system ensuring you are all on the same setup. Anything that modifies the Bin files or Data files though still needs to be performed like the Party mod, native mod fixers, etc..
my friend had the SAME issue and we were pulling our hair out. you have to open your mod folder and literally count each file and make sure each one is the same! version, type, and the amount of the mods.

we are using mod manager and we assumed everything was the same, but my friend had THREE of the same mod; two were different versions and on top of that she was missing a mod.

Vortex and BG3MM are reliable to an EXTENT, there are still certain things they mess up sometimes. It never hurts to double check! Hope this helps, cause this helped us :auimp: !!

My friend and I are experiencing the same issue. We're both using BG3MM and made sure we had the exact same mods, but I'll double-check the versions just in case those are incompatible.

Unfortunately, there are some manually installed mods that can't be managed through BG3MM, so I guess we'll need to make sure we've installed those correctly as well. Would appreciate if anyone's found a fix for this though!

Found a few other reasons for the issue after working with a member of my group. Turns out profile cache may be the other big cause to these. To test check your local app data folder.
Larian/Baldurs Gate/ profile <essentially copy your story folder with your saves to your desktop and then delete it out of the app data folder. Run the game and see if you have the issue after reenabling your mods. If it let's you in return your saves to the folder and enjoy.

Just hijacking in case someone else is trying everything but nothing works, maybe this other solution will:

Everything in the appdata mod folder was the same, everything in the modloader had the same order.
The problem was lying ing the mods folder under the normal steam path (for me D:\Programs\Steam\steamapps\common\Baldurs Gate 3\Data).
It's save to delete the whole mods folder which is in there and after doing so I could finally join my friends party again.
