Crash when opening after patch 2

Anyone else experience crashing before even reaching the menus? My game loads to 100% before the menus appear then CTD. Did clean install of the game. Double checked my drivers. It was working before the patch. I have directions on how to do a roll back for now but it just seems tedious.

Yep, I have the same CTD as everyone else in this topic since Patch 2.

It loads to 50%, stops again at 93% and then crashes at 100% before the menu loads.

I had a similar problem on GOG-client with galaxy-launcher several patches ago. Loading to 100% to startmenu, then client crash (stopped responding). Could fix it with disabling galaxy-ingame-overlay. No 100% crashes since.

Maybe disabling steam-overlay could also help with this problem here?

I managed to get past it by opening up the bg3_dx11.exe file as administrator. No issues so far, so definitely give it a try if you haven't.

report back if you crash, i did this in patch 2 but not 3 and it still crashed. what worked best for me was to gtfo out of act 3 quests in the city, the sewers seemed to be the best, but this could be totally random. im on the elder brain rn got 2/3 skill checks and trying to finish but it keeps crashing on what i presume to be a last fight in the game, but im only level 10, nearly 11 so it sucks i gave up so much xp in baldurs gate/wyrms rest quests because of the crashes

I managed to get into the gameplay for the first time since patch by doing this AND making sure my Razor software was closed.

Sucks everyone is having similar issues with no real solution just yet. Im managing to load in 100% but only with DX11 for some reason. Still not getting to the main menu tho. I tried tried all the suggested fixes from Larian including running the .exe as admin but it didn't work for me. Guess ill have to wait for an official fix cuz there is no way im downloading this thing again.

having the exact same issue on vanilla bg3. crash at 100% and can't reach the menu. very surprised it's been nearly 4 days of this with no hotfix

Same I thought it was just my computer but after patch 2 mines broke. Friends all working fine tho just so happens to be mine

crashs when loading a game, they need a ptr this is happening every patch.

well with hotfix 5, i've actually been able to reach the main menu. once. then, before i managed to choose save game to load, ctd. tried again and even didn't reach the menu. well done :/

Same here! Totally vanilla and constantly crashing pre menu

hotfix 5 for crash gate 3 is working as expected, rapid crashes about 3m last loaded save right at the end of the game on elder brain fight, my first play through

i have spent like 20 hours of loading and crashing to play the last maybe 2 hours or playtime in act 3 because of non stop crashes and making going into the city to complete quests super difficult because of faster than usual crashing

its annoying the most because people this far in are addicted and want to keep playing and finish and maybe play it again, at this point i just want to finish it and forget about it for a few years
