This time I did have an option in the hotbar to inspect the moon lantern and free the pixie.
For some reason Balthazar's Moon Lantern doesn't work? May not technically be a gamebreaking bug, but it was for me. I tried playing a bit just with the safety of the lantern, and I was gonna give up on the game before playing through all of act 2 with it.
Balthazar's moonlanterns are....recycled ones. He uses dead pixies to make the lamps. The Driden's is alive. My guess is the Driden got his moonlantern actually from Lolth or Shar, and later became a follower of the Absolute. But he is still divided between loyalties. He is only loyal to the drow among the Absolute band is my guess.
Considering no one else has that problem, I doubt it is a game problem to begin with.
Did you equip the lantern, as in hit the Toggle Lightsource button beneath your Ranged weapon on your toolbar? Just putting the lantern in your lightsource slot isn't equipping it.
