Astarion No Dialogue Bug

I've run into an issue where Astarion refuses to talk about anything other than the option to dismiss him back to camp. While he will chime in during certain conversations and checks, as well as provide his opinion on the current situation, there are no dialogue options available to discuss his past or build a relationship with him. I'm playing with a friend, and we thought maybe having him return to camp and then re-inviting him would rectify the issue, but there was no change.
Astarion also revealed his status as a vampire to the party at the start of the Underdark, but he has no vampiric abilities, nor does he have to worry about his own hunger. I'm not sure exactly what happened, but even though I can improve his disposition as we play, I can't actually form a bond with him. To people curious, my friend is playing a regular character while I am playing Dark Urge, so I am wondering if that might be the cause? The major patch did nothing to solve this predicament. :(

Getting the same thing on patch 3. Also playing Dark Urge. Think its related to missing the scene where he tries to bite you. There was too much Durge stuff going on (Alfira, butler dude). So yea im hoping act 2 will start his ascension dialogue at least.

as someone who has this issue no matter how many characters i make and how many times i try at diffrent times, i dont think so, ive litteraly uninstalled and reinstalled the game and nothing works, i am completely locked out of Astarions relationship with no fix in sight, this is one post of 2 ive seen have this problem and no one has a fix, i am desperate to fix it as Astarion is my favorite character but nothing has worked QAQ

I'm having the same issue and it's driving me nuts. I'm on console and am on the verge of putting the game down for a long time.

I'm playing on console as Durge and I'm also locked out of any dialogue options. The only thing I can do at camp with him is dismiss or recruit him. After major story beats I sometimes get follow-up dialogues, but once I go through them there's no option to re-discuss like there is with other characters. It's been like this for my entire playthrough ಥ⁠_⁠ಥ. I was hoping act three with the circus dryad would circumvent this and I'd be able to get some romantic dialogue options with astarion, but no.

It's now 2025 and I just ran into this same issue! Did anyone ever figure out how to fix it? The only dialog options I have with Astarion are sending him to camp or leaving the conversation. I have loaded older saves in the same game and the bug just jumps to there. I've even loaded into old separate saved play-throughs and now those are bugged too! I can't progress his story line without talking to him! Someone please help!

I haven't played again since completing the game, but when the next patch drops, I'll do another playthrough to see if the issue is resolved

Yeah I just a got this and stuck with him in camp not letting me go to sleep since he needs to talk but won’t say anything, I looked for the boar and couldn’t find it in this playthrough but I got enough affinity with him to get him to tell me he is a vampire but like yeah, I have no idea what to do or how to fix it except for either killing him and then resurrecting him after I sleep through the night
