NPC UI is missing

In my party, when I click over to another character to look at their equipment, the UI disappears. And when I hit the space bar, all I get is the pop up in the bottom corner of the screen to skip the cut scene. When I click on another character, the game goes back to my character as if I was talking to them. Currently, I am in the Underdark.

So for example, my character's name is Cam. When I click on Shadowheart's icon to view her equipment (or even just control her in battle), the UI goes missing as I've stated above. Then lets say I go to click on Astarion, instead of Shadowheart talking to Astarion, the focus will shaft back to Cam and Cam will be the one talking to Astarion. In battle, I'm just stuck and can't do anything.

Anyone else have this issue or know how to fix this issue without having to restart my game?
