Friend can't join multiplayer game, loads to 70% and then gets booted to menu

Title. They join the server, load up to around 70%, and then get immediately booted to the main menu. No error message or anything, just kicked to the menu. They've been joining just fine before today, and my other friends can join my server easily, but this one person specifically can't. Is it an issue with the new patch maybe? Idk.

most consistent way we found was to look for altered files in the larian launcher log, delete them, then verify the game files. if you have mods, delete those, verify, and then reinstall the mods one by one, making sure you all have the same ones with the same version number and whatnot

I have got the same error, we got everything matched , same versions, same mods and still can't join , it rolls back from 70%

Managed to get a solution for my problem. First of all, what JuicyJuustar said, you need to delete the altered files given by the Larian Launcher log. But, for me,needed to delete the hotfix patches too and now, i tried to connect to a friend, who just bought the game and it works like a charm spell

Can I ask how you pulled up the Larian Launcher log I am having the same issue and cant figure out how to pull that up?

It's been a while since I last checked, but I'm pretty sure it's in your files under "Local Disk/Users/<Your Name>/AppData/Local/Larian Studios/Launcher/Logs". At the very least I know it's SOMEWHERE in that Larian Studios folder.
