Oliver hide and seek--can't "catch" him in 2nd round?

In the Shadow-Cursed lands, I am struggling with what is either a bug or a terribly non-intuitive way to trigger "seeking"/finding Oliver in the 2nd round of the hide and seek game.

In the 2nd round of hide and seek, I just cannot trigger "catching" Oliver. I can sneak back into the house without being caught by the Shadow "parents," but even though I can see Oliver, being near him does not trigger any progression at all. Clicking him inside or outside the turn-based mode does nothing. I've restarted the game, reloaded the quest, etc, to no avail. I've surrounded Oliver with my entire party, accidentally pickpocketed Oliver, let Oliver simmer for several turns as I desperately attempt to avoid the vision cones of his "parents," et cetera. Nothing is working!

Is there some trick to this that I'm not getting, is it currently broken (& I just have to fight the shadows and piss him off I guess)? Thanks all.

Have you tried just killing them all and then talking to him?

I was confused too. It is a little nonintuitive: while you're stealthed you have to right click on a person, and the talk option will come up. Talk to him while you're still in stealth.

Been sneaking in circles for half an hour and couldn't win. No tips & trick site gave away that simple information. Thanks a lot!

I want to say that you have to fight Mommy/Daddy and Puppy in order to progress this. I passed this area a few days ago and could never "find" him without combat breaking out but he does reward you either way.

That option doesnt show for me i only can pickpocket or attack him...

Ok i was just too fast you have to wait about two-three rounds before you can talk to him

Something else to note. I separated Astarion from the party and left everyone else on the root bridge coming up to the house. Even though they got caught in the vision cone, I was still able to speak to him with Astarion and I won. Then they disappeared as enemies.
