Bugged NPC freezing the game

When you arrive in Baldur's Gate, just behind the Sword Coast Courriers, you'll find to NPC near dogs in cages : Oyster Boy Dringo and Angry Mar'Hyah

If I speak to them, I'm then unable to move my characters or open the inventory because the game think I'm in a dialogue even thou I don't see anything. All I can do is reload.

Have we ever come to find a fix for this? I'm having this issue now with a multiplayer game. If either of us talk to any npc, we lose the ability to move or do anything.
