You know about the creche and that one is nearby, so that is not an issue. That you are going to be attacked is no surprise, because most gith think you are below them. So makes sense, however it is still bad writing that you need to know about stuff out of the game to actually know why it makes sense. Just reload and follow Lae'zal, she is quite good to have in your party. I made her into quite a super duper tank. Especially once i rerolled her with Wither. (I just gave her defense instead of 2 handed since Karlach is better with that, and i remove 2 points from int and placed it on Dex:D)
As i said it is one of those consequences encounter. Sadly Larian most of the time does not give you ANY heads up when such occurs, you only get sometimes warnings that if you advance you might not be able to finish some quests and such. But that is cuz of the main quest....in ACT 2 i had 3 such so far, whereas in ACT 1 you can encounter like 1 maybe 2?
edit: BTW i think you can resolve the thread, since nobody from Larian is checking the forum;) Sticky post/pinned post is your friend:D
I would like to have Lae'zel in my party, but I've played 15+ hours more since that revive situation, soooo xD
Maybe on my next run she will survive :D
Well at least at certain parts you wont need to mind her oppinion then.
For my part, i actually botched the Pale elf quest most likely. (Act 2, i should have had Astarion in an encounter with me...the funny thing is he says that i should take him with me so maybe he can meet him again...apparantly that encounter only occurs twice, i missed both and he told me to take him with....after he missed both...so yeah...:D And i could have taken a Wyll or Karlach with me instead not just some barely useful rogue:D)
The game just gives us reasons and options to replay it :D
As far as I'm aware, there wasn't another cutscene. Maybe I just somehow avoided the trigger or something, but after retrying the fight three times with a substitute party member and getting nowhere, I decided to go around and complete some odd jobs to level up before returning. 8 hours later I'm back and realize I need to reload the save from before I ever even reached the bridge in order to save her life, since apparently she no longer remembers ever even being in the party. I'm guessing the permadeath and her wiped memory has something to do with her no longer being considered a party member when she dies.
There is a second cutscene. Today I found my save of this segment and tested a bit. When u go to Lae'zel after the first cutscene (when she leaves the party) there's the second cutscene right away.
When u go to the camp before going to Lae'zel and return to her and Githyanki = the fight starts automatically without cutscences and Lae'zel is dead
I'll be honest, I can't even blame myself. They REALLY should have at least made it clear she'd join the party once again if you go down there; I just assumed she had simply defaulted to her allegiance to the Githyanki and would need to later be persuaded to rejoin the party, hence why I went to get a temporary replacement team member. If it's not really a bug I doubt they'll do anything about it, but I hope they changed how that whole interaction plays out in the future for clarity's sake.
Same thoughts, mate... I also thought that she'll return eventually
As i wrote bad writing, the game has a lot of very confusing completely not clear just some guy thought it would be cool like this solutions like this. And there is no warning, either you have a similar thinking like that person, or you dont. Or by some miracle you do a different playthrough like most folks and dont run into this trap. (I play with try to rest only when necessary. So in ACT 1 i was forced to rest three times to be able to finish the ACT:D)
No that is again a different scenario afaik. If you do not find her she will be recruitable later to my knowledge. If you recruited her, let her go to the githyanki, and thereafter either went to your camp, went to rest, or started certain quest(as in doing them) then she always dies and is out of the game. I wonder though what would happen if she solos the whole patrol cuz she rolled 100 20-s in a row:D
Hmmm, my Lae'zel was with me after the crash and I still can't revive her :(
OH right my bad, yes this is how you can recruit her, if you do not free her from the trap.
IT is the different scenario i mentioned, just i failed to understand properly what you wrote, was my bad.
Yes if you do not free her from the trap and just avoid her, then this is where you can recruit her after reviving her. If you already had her in the team this is where you can permanently lose her.
My sequence went like this: I met the rando tiefling near the bridge who told me to be careful. Then Laezel runs away. I follow her (no going to camp, no short resting, just follow her as quick as I can while being encumbered with her backpack, took me a second to get rid of it). I get down to the bottom of the cliff and she's already dead, and not part of my party. i finally defeat the gith and still can't revive her, because she's not in the party. Withers can't help either. I know what's supposed to happen (the cutscene with her talking to the dragon rider) but that did not happen for me this time. I didn't get the cutscene with the dragon burning the bridge either.
But then after I loaded the game, she was dead at the camp. Every time we rest, she is there, dead. In the quest log, it says something like "We killed Lae'zel because she threatened us". but I never killed her. She just appeared dead and now I can't resurrect her. The spell just says "Can't revive character", and Whiters completely ignores her as an option to be revived as well.
