Drained boar scene not working

Hello, me and my friend playing together in party, she's a host and her companion is Astarion.

We found a dead boar killed by Astarion and she clicked on it, but there was no cutscene for wisdom check. After some time Astarion himself randomly told her that he's vampire and then oneshot monster hunter.
After it there was no progress to his quest, no cutscenes or new dialogues at all.

Tried to reload early save to find this boar again and cutscene worked but we already have a lot of hours in game to start it all over again

The question is, will his quest progress further or it's now blocked by this bug? Or maybe this is not a bug, but just different version of events and everything will be ok in future? We also want his bite skill, because it's pretty useful.

it also happened to me today, no new dialogs after investigating the boar, talking to hunter, etc
so was it fixed for you later? did you get the skill and new dialogs or is it a softlock?

Unfortunately. it wasn't fixed, our characters still have no idea that Astarion is a vampire and there were no new cutscenes with him.

No problems with other characters though. We will still play further and if we finally get some development with him, then I'll write here!

For the character to have that check, they need the proficieny to recognise it before the AC.

Most likely it will progress normally at some point, just a tad later.

I finally figured this out after spending 12 hours without him revealing himself as a vampire.

Talking to the hunter did not work as he does not reveal that Astarion is the vampire he´s looking for. He only says "im looking for the vampire spawn called Astarion" when Astarion has already revealed himself.

When Astarion has not revealed himself as a vampire the hunter will only say that he´s looking for a vampire spawn, not giving a name.

So what i did was taking a long rest without the camp supplies, in other words i took a partial rest. Without missing a beat our hungry vampire went to snack on my neck finally admitting to be a vampire.

I can now use his vampire abilites.

Side note: I never found the boar or saw him go out to hunt, so i guess that is not an important step.

Make him hungry and he´ll be your vampire in no time, Hope this helped! :D

The cutscene seems top be a perception check, but it is not shown as such. I can only tell you that with different characters it turned out different. Same goes for the location of the boar.

I think you can get the name even if Astarion did not reveal himself you just need to pass a check.
I did not get a check for the boar(bug), Astarion also did not try to suck blood of my character...sooo....actually this is better, since his romancing stuff bugged, so only Gale and Halsin keep up the pressure.

im having the same issue! no cutscene with the boar after his "hungry" night, no new dialogue with the hunter(he didnt even say astarion's name), and my character spent the night with him during the party. i still cant trigger the bite scene no matter what i do and im worried it will affect how the story and my romance progresses + i want the bite bonus action. anyone figure out how to fix it yet?

I never foundnd the boar but ended up getting the biting scene on the first night, i think because i found a book about vampires in the dusty crypt of the ruins on the beach. The book basically DESCRIBED Astarion and then as a joke I gave the book itself to him. I think that chain of events definitely triggered it, because the boar was only supposed to introduce that vampires exist, but since i found the book, i now know of vampires.

I think the books name was "Beware of the Vampyre"

So, yep, I started new game and camped before finding boar at all and Astarion tried to bite even without this, so I think that works too xD

Maybe they fixed something, idk, me and my friend suddenly got his "bite" skill in 2 act, when we continued to play after one of the fixes (no biting scene though) and our companions were like oooohhhh there's a vampire in our camp. Facepalm moment for us.

Also want to add that we both tried to out him as a vampire all this time and even spoke to Araj Oblodra with him who was like: "hey you, spawn, bite me" AND STILL NO ONE REALISED THAT HE'S A VAMPIRE!
