Shadowheart's Relic Bug

You can apparently succeed in stealing Shadowheart's artifact without the game acknowledging it, and acting as if she still has it.

On the ravaged beach with her back turned since she was hammering that chapel door I snuck up and did a successful pickpocket for the artifact, and it went into my inventory, but despite succeeding the game then played a cutscene of her threatening me, which ended, and then the normal cutscene of you approaching her and her telling you to stay back plays. I decided to test things by not letting her into my group so she'd end up in the grove; lo and behold when I meet her again she still has the artifact in the next cutscene. I recruited her and took a look in her inventory and, well, she doesn't have the artifact.

TL;DR: You can steal the precious from Shadowheart but neither her or the game really acknowledge it and act as if you didn't. I have no idea what the further ramifications are down the line from this bug but it is interesting.

It seems they have patched the ability to take it from her. I took it before she joined on the nautilus and it crashes the game after the cutscenes of grabbing the helm. On a different play I had pickpocketed it from her on the beach and it was just like you said, except I got a wild cutscene where the spirit people talked to me and said they decided to choose me instead? Then it acted like she still had it. Now on other plays she doesn't pick it up until you interact with her (so no pickpocketing) and if you kill her on the beach and try to loot it, it is now "bound" to her and unlootable.
