I got nothing.
It only seems to affect split screen. If you exit split screen and play solo through the problem section it will work. I’ve been using that to get past the freezing. And saving tons.
Limiting the in game fps to 30 stopped the crashing for me and a friend for several hours. Near the beginning after landing on the beach it was nearly unplayable freezing and crashing every couple minutes. We managed to play several hours straight with no crashes after changing this.
I hope it helps! And really hope Larian fixes it because I love the game.
Great ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ job Larian, nice to see 2 patches and no ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ fix. I'm done with this ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥.
You tried the new performance patch Patch 2? Still crashes? That's a shame.. Waiting to play with my wife as well.
Btw what kind of specs do you guys have?
My PC is ancient but can easily run the game in 60 fps in singleplayer.
I5-4670k, 8 GB RAM, 1070.
Don't know if people with new PC's have the same problems. Split-screen is more demanding but if it crashes something must be wrong like a memory leak or something.
I have i5-6600k, 12GB ram, 1070, i run solo fullspec the first act but crash between 5min and 45min in low graphics in split screen...
Solo game can run on Ultra graphic settings without any problems, but split screen freezing every 2 minutes on a lowest settings
Specs:
CPU: i5-7500
GPU: Sapphire RX 6700 XT (12GB)
RAM: 16GB DDR4
Screen: 1080p
Running the game off SSD, CPU/GPU temps staying ~50-60C with some good fans and CPU cooler. Generally, seems to be plenty of system memory and GPU doing fine while CPU struggling ~90-100%.
Playing split screen: originally ran game on auto-detected graphics at 60fps with DX11, which set me at a mix of ultra and high. Game froze in character creation while flipping through hair options. Restarted and verified files, lowered some settings to medium/high from ultra/high, got through character creation.
Going through first door, opened the pause menu while quicksaving and the game froze again. Restarted and put all settings at low and 30fps max set. Had no issues for a bit so gradually brought up 48fps with the below settings, which have worked fine for a couple hours now. Just started the game and haven't really encountered any really demanding scenes yet, so I can update what happens. Still encountering some stuttering, delays to open menus/loot/etc, and walking animation stops while quicksaving (player character model floats standing pose while moving). Glad to be able to play now but disappointing the state of split screen and quicksaving often.
Interested to know if these settings work for others, what your specs are, and if we can see any patterns that cause issues! Thanks all :)
