Auntie Ethel masks and Gnarled Door broken

Loving the game so far but I got to the Auntie Ethel quest where you have to go through the gnarled door by putting one of the masks on

This part of the game was just as broken on the Early Access version
I'm assuming what supposed to happen is the character that puts on the mask which allows your party to pass through the door and once you reach the other side Ethel turns the teammate against you until you beat the party member unconscious

I don't think I ever had this work as intended
Half the time half my party gets stuck behind the door and can't pass through
Sometimes Ethel's takeover triggers instantly after I equip the mask before we go through the door and then can't pass through

Sometimes the ability to pass through the door just doesn't turn on with the mask

I haven't gone past the section where the original early access version ends but overall I think I spent more time reloading and doing trial and error on this part of the game than anything so far

my experience, it worked just fine. I didn't even have to use the mask- as there are multiple ways to go through this... do some experimentation! :D
