Game completely freezing PC?
I need some help here y'all. Every time I boot up the game, it tends to run fine for a good 30-40 mins, no stuttering or dropped frames, then suddenly I'll try to speak to a character attack an enemy, and the game will completely freeze. I can't use ctrl+alt+delete, tab out or anything, leaving me to just turn off the PC with the power button. I checked the CPU usage and it sits around 80% normally, and I'm assuming when it freezes it just completely spikes to 100? My tech knowledge is pretty bare minimum so some help would be appreciated since the game is unplayable seeing as I have to save constantly in case one of these freezes comes up.

These are my specs:
AMD Ryzen 7 1700X Eight-Core Processor
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 3GB
16.0 GB RAM

For reference, I'm running the game as administrator, I've turned all graphics down to medium, I've already done a fresh install and deleted early access save files, basically every quick fix that google has offered and still nothing is working.

I have a similar problem, except its not time/usage based. Rather I experience the same crash at specific points in the game (black screen, pc powers down but not off, has to be hard reset or powered off with a switch). For me, this occurs during the first guardian dream sequence. As the guardian's eyes glow, and they use some magic, straight to crash.

No changes to video settings have helped, and i've crashed at least 20 times at the exact same place regardless of settings.

Ryzen 7 7600, 6900xt, 64gb of ram. no overclocking, same result with undervolting and default tuning of video card

I'm seeing a lot of people, even with beast setups, having similar issues so I'm hoping it's just the game itself and not hardware problems. Hoping that some optimisation will fix it,

Have you tried deleting the files found in %appdata%? I deleted everything but my save game, validated and joined and my freezes didn't stop but they got way better. It's the only thing that's kind of helped. Still looking for a complete solution. I was fine in early access and full release. Hotfix 1 seems to have caused the issues.

I'll give it a go! I've seen some people saying that launching from the actual .exe itself instead of through steam can help as well.

I deleted the entire game and reinstalled, but have not messed with the appdata folder. I will give that a try tonight.

Just spoke to my little brother and what he did seems to have helped. He turned V-sync off and threaded optimisation on through the NVIDIA Control Panel, and now my CPU usage sits around 70% even when talking to NPCs and stuff. Will update if I get another crash!

Scratch that, didn't help much at all. Got another PC crash right after a long ass cutscene :'(

I’m having issues also with random freezing and stuttering I’ve tried everything to make it stop and it’s still doing it I have a brand new pc with a ryzen 7 5800x and a 4080 I don’t have any problem with other games I’m playing so I don’t get it ):
DX11 or Vulkan? Vulkan is pretty unstable

I’m using dx11 I’ve watched videos and have done everything that they have said to try in the videos and nothing has helped either /:

I suddenly had a similar problem recently, after the patch. I tried a lot of things, then deleted saves from the game folder, and game works fine again. I had a lot of quick saves. Deleted some late saves, until the game stopped crashing. Since then everything is fine
