Literally can't play the game at all anymore DIRECTX errors
I reinstalled, removed everything, %local Larian folder etc, loaded save. Played for 10 mins and crashed. I was crashing before, but I would still be able to continue to play for some hours. Now I can't even get to main menu.

All worked smooth and well during launch, after hotfix crashing started happening.

I am 99.9999% sure this is related to Baldur's gate 3 and not my hardware. Considering many others have the same exact problem after the hotfix. And that I could play without any hiccup at release. With newest Nvidia drivers.

Using a GE66 Raider laptop.
Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-10750H CPU @ 2.60GHz 2.59 GHz
16gb ram
RTX 2070 mobile

I have been using MSI Afterburner. I tried a different profile that I had setup. And with that profile, the game ran flawlessly. My other profile was more underclocked, as I had benchmarked it to get more fps in games. For some reason, Baldur's gate 3 had issues with it. The other profile has been working well in other games. So there might be something that the game engine doesn't like with gpu over/underclocking. That is my specualtaion. I did ran on launch the profile that now gives me trouble, then it was just fine with more underclocking. With less underclocking, running the new profile, there is no issues.

I've also read, that some people have been limiting the GPU to 90% power, to make the game run flawlessly. I have no clue why this is so.

Will need to see if this was the real issue for me. At least now I can get to the main menu and play.

Hmmm i have an overclocked graphics card and i was having random crashes to desktop, and i was thinking the same thing if it was because of my card being overclocked? it did cross my mind.......

I wonder if most of these Crashes are with other people with overclocked systems?????

Something to think about we might be onto something here.

Im having the same problem, game worked fine yesterday and now it crashes with the same message on start up, i cant even get to the in game main menu.
sadly the only way i've seen people fix this is by upgrading/changing hardware, the game runs GPU's at 100% utilisation and will cause your GPU to heat up way beyond safe levels....don't keep pushing your laptop to run it if u wanna keep using it.....

Edit: all i can suggest after doing some more searches online is to try repairing your DirectX....otherwise im still at a loss because chances are you've done everything already

Having the same issues after over 50hours of gameplay. Using a 3070. I have also tried everything mentioned above. I suppose ill try repairing DirectX. Vulcan wont even load unless I restart. A pity because BG3 is amazing

I found a way to block the error.....it has to do with creating a tldr folder and setting it to 0.....Ive almost got it up to 10 fms....but it's taking a while to locate the problem.....this was a common issue durring the early days of Ever Quest

dxgi_error_device_removed mod fix

Workaraound, for me, is to use Vulkan instead of DX11. But this can't be a solution.
My system is pretty new, 7700x and 7900xtx, tons of demanding games and only BG3 crash whit "DXGI error device removed".
Don't know if is driver related or game related problem. Need fix From Larian or AMD.

its a game problem....this was a pretty common issue at the beginning of EQ.....I thought it would have been completely solved after so many years of game programming
