Grymforge + Abandoned Refuge extremely crash prone. Progress is slow.

I have tried playing the game in both directx 11 mode and Vulkan, both crash the game in this area repeatedly. (dx11 crashes my entire system hard I don't recommend it)

So far I have had no issues in other parts of Act 1 aside from initially playing in dx11 which proved to crash the game during fights, then I switched to Vulkan for the majority of my playthrough, now much more stable. But I finally reached the duergar expedition in the underdark I have been crashing every 5 minutes in the Abandoned Refuge whenever I pan my camera around.

Has anybody else ran into similar issues in this map area? Ever since I broke through the rubble to get to the top story of the ruined temple, the game crashes sometimes when I pan the camera around.

After hours of testing a certain fight in the Grymforge area that caused me crashes every 2-5 mins, I was able to narrow down my issue on a Radeon 7600 to disabling the "Surface Format Optimization" in AMD Adrenalin and using Vulkan.

1) AMD Software: Adrenaline Addition->Gaming->Games->Baulders Gate 3->Advanced->Disable "Surface Format Optimization"
2) Start BG3 with Vulkan

I tested this fight with different settings (low to ultra) and if I could get through the fight with out a crash (20-25 mins) then I considered that a success. "Surface Format Optimization" at least for me was the key setting that made a difference other settings did not matter. Not sure if there is a Nvidia equivalent. DirectX still gave me DXGI_ERROR_DEVICE_REMOVED even with "Surface Format Optimization" disabled.

This worked for me. Thanks for suggesting this solution.
