I am just going to have start aggressively autosaving every minute and after every round of combat at the moment. It sucks.
I tried capping the framerate and lowering graphics settings but it didn't fix the problem. Switching back to DX11 didn't fix it either. I was monitoring system usage and temps using HWMonitor and never noticed anything out of the ordinary (no high temps or unusual power draw). Anecdotally the crashes seem to happen most often while viewing several floors at once, e.g. from a high vantage point or after climbing a ladder.
At this point it's pretty much unplayable and I'm just waiting for a fix. My specs are similar to above posters: 5900X, 32GB 3600mhz RAM, 7900XTX.
That is what I've noticed, any part of the map that isn't in the center with its 2/3 stories of items, traps, NPCs, and things seems to not crash the game.
Notably it is the worst around and inside the chamber with the duergar and deep gnomes mining
Specs: 7700x CPU, 32 GB 5600 RAM, 6900 XT GPU
I was thinking the same about the Radeon cards. I run a 7900XT (Not the XTX as most others seem to be). Up until the Grymforge I have not had a single crash. I have played long sessions (6 to 8 hours) with both DX11 and Vulcan. While Vulcan gives me slightly better performance. Generally both have been fine.
Specs: 5800X CPU, 64GB DDR4 RAM, 7900XT GPU, WD850 Black NVME.
